Let’s nurture nature so that we can have a better future – The students of Sri Jayendra Saraswathy Vidyalaya visited ‘Siruthuli’, an NGO based in the city, which works to rejuvenate water resources in the city. Mrs. Sujani Balu explained how ‘Siruthuli’ was started with a few conscious corporates to create public awareness on environmental issues especially related to water in the Noyyal River. Mr. Suresh, Proprietor, Farmstead, Coimbatore, briefly explained the measures that can be adapted to conserve water in our everyday lives, the necessity to live in harmony with nature, and respect nature. This was followed by a session on ‘Virtual Water’ focusing on the hidden water content in food and other commodities that are traded from one place to another. The final session was on ‘Miyawaki System’ to create a green cover within a minimum space. The program created a sense of social responsibility among the students.
