Celebrating every learner’s uniqueness through the Multiple Intelligences approach, with MI Diaries guiding inclusive, child-centric learning.

PedagogyOur pedagogy is grounded in the Multiple Intelligence approach, acknowledging that each learner is unique and learns best through different intelligences. The use of MI Diaries helps teachers plan and track diverse learning experiences, ensuring inclusive, child-centric instruction that nurtures every student’s strengths.
Aligned with NEP, we focus on:
This blended approach fosters joyful, meaningful learning while preparing students to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
PedagogyFor Classes 1 to 5, our school follows the acclaimed XSEED learning methodology, a research-based approach that transforms traditional classroom teaching into active, hands-on learning.
In every lesson, students observe, question, analyse, and discuss, allowing them to construct knowledge through real experiences rather than memorization. Classroom discussions encourage children to express their ideas confidently, think critically, and understand concepts deeply.
Once concepts are explored, students apply their learning independently through structured workbook activities, reinforcing clarity and retention. Each lesson also includes Higher-Order Thinking (HOTS) questions, empowering students to reason, reflect, and solve problems creatively.
Learning becomes joyful, meaningful, and impactful—helping children grow into curious, confident, and capable learners.
Social–Emotional Learning & Student Wellbeing
At our school, Social–Emotional Learning (SEL) is an integral part of the curriculum. We believe that nurturing emotional intelligence is just as important as academic excellence. Through a structured and thoughtfully designed program, we ensure that every child feels safe, valued, and empowered.
Student Support & Mental Health Department (SEL)
The SJSV Student Support and Mental Health Department is central to the institution’s commitment to nurturing the mind, heart, and character of every learner. It provides a safe, inclusive, and confidential space that promotes emotional well-being, resilience, and self-awareness across all age groups.
-Rooted in holistic and globally informed practices, the department emphasizes early intervention, balanced cognitive–emotional–social development, and strong collaboration with teachers and families, guided by empathy and confidentiality
-Specialized programs include the Innerverse 6-Pillar SEL Program (Grades 1–5), support for academically gifted students, SMART Goals workshops for Grade 9, sports mindset training for young athletes, and resource room support for specific learning disabilities in collaboration with the Madras Dyslexic Association .
-The department also plays a key role in child protection and safety, actively supporting the CACA program, POCSO and Grievance Redressal Committees, and ensuring robust campus and transport safety practices—reinforcing its commitment to developing emotionally intelligent, resilient learners.
-Support is delivered through preventive and responsive services such as individual and group counselling, emotional intelligence and mindfulness programs, resilience training, parental guidance, and peer support initiatives. CACA Program (Children Against Child Abuse)
-In collaboration with the Delhi-based CACA initiative, students from KG 2 to Grade 9 follow a structured workbook that builds essential awareness on personal safety, emotional wellbeing, boundaries, and self-protection. The program equips children with the confidence to recognise unsafe situations and seek help appropriately.
-To build a truly safe ecosystem, students, parents, teachers, and all support staff undergo regular online training sessions, ensuring a shared responsibility in safeguarding children.
We believe in experiential learning that brings knowledge to life. Our NEP-integrated curriculum nurtures curiosity, innovation, and adaptability. Through project-based learning, students explore real-world concepts with creativity and confidence. We aim to build future-ready learners equipped with practical life skills and strong values.
At our school, literacy is more than a subject, it is a culture we build with care, creativity, and research-based practices.
We follow the internationally acclaimed Jolly Phonics program, which has significantly strengthened early reading skills by giving children a strong foundation in sounds, blending, and decoding.
From KG to Grade 5, students learn through the Fitzroy Reading Program (Australia), a complete, structured reading system based on phonics patterns across progressive levels. As children advance through each level, they grow into confident and fluent readers with strong comprehension and vocabulary.
To cultivate a genuine love for books, we have dedicated D.E.A.R. Time (Drop Everything And Read), where students and teachers pause their routine to immerse themselves in reading. This practice continues during holidays as well, encouraging children to read every day and build an enduring reading habit.
Our younger learners also enjoy storytelling sessions, puppet-based stories, and puppet theatre, making literacy an imaginative, joyful, and interactive experience.
With a rich blend of structured phonics and creative storytelling, we aim to inspire every child to become an enthusiastic reader and a confident communicator.
We celebrate the diversity of our students’ learning styles. Inspired by Howard Gardner’s theory of multiple intelligences, our curriculum is designed to tap into linguistic, mathematical-logical, spatial, musical, interpersonal, intrapersonal, naturalistic, and bodily-kinesthetic intelligences. We recognize each individual’s unique strengths and cater to their specific learning styles to facilitate a comprehensive, inclusive learning experience. Beyond classroom learning, we foster these diverse skills through our Kalanjali competitions, a platform to showcase, recognize, and reward our students’ unique talents and abilities, further celebrating and promoting diversity in learning styles at SJS.
